Artabel contributes software engineering to funded research projects: components, systems integration, tested releases and documentation. Roles are agreed with the coordinator and the scientific partners.
What we take on
Roles we take in a consortium.
Each role has a defined output, agreed with the consortium and written into the proposal. The engineering practice is the same as in our commercial work: interfaces and hosting agreed before development starts, tested releases, and documentation that lets partners maintain what we build after the project.

Before you ask
How participation works.
Can a Swiss partner be a full beneficiary?
Yes. Artabel participates under Switzerland’s association to Horizon Europe. We are happy to provide the current framework confirmation in writing at proposal stage so the coordinator’s eligibility check is closed early.
How large a work package can you carry?
A full engineering work package over the life of a project, scoped against our capacity at proposal stage.
How is the work agreed?
The software scope, interfaces, staffing, schedule and testing responsibilities are agreed with the project partners and written into the proposal.
What about ethics, the AI Act and data protection?
Each workflow is screened for AI Act and data-protection requirements. For every deployed system we record its purpose, data sources, model version, who approves releases and what was corrected, with the depth of review proportionate to the risk. We contribute to the project’s governance protocol.
